BYP is eagerly anticipating the celebration of its 25th Anniversary later this year. The journey began with the drafting of our constitution back in January 1998, and we opened our doors at the end of that year. Over the decades BYP has grown to be a vital and much needed hub for the youth of Ashburton and surrounding areas. We’ve been running so long we now have members whose parents came when they were young!
The club has seen some changes and regrettably in May we said farewell to Julien, our longstanding Lead Youth Support Worker. His 20 years of good-humoured and untiring support for BYP members will be much missed! We wish him well in his future endeavours.
Looking forward, we are pleased to announce that Michael, an established member of our team for the past eight years, has taken the opportunity to step into the lead role. Additionally, we are excited to welcome Arwenn as a new addition to our Youth Team.
The Management Group recently welcomed two new members: Joe Elston, with a background in youth work and fundraising, and Amy Capron, parent of three BYP members.
This is an exciting time for BYP. We have lots of fresh new activities and old favourites planned. Details of summer activities coming soon!
