The Bank Youth Project is open again and spreading the word with support from Dartmoor Coronavirus Community Support.
Coronavirus lockdowns have led to BYP having to close its doors for most of the past year. Despite doing outdoor outreach and being open where possible with extra Covid safety measures in place, re-opening after this year of disruption means reaching out and spreading the word to local youth and parents about what BYP offers.
‘It is almost like starting over with new membership,’ said Julien Skinner, BYP’s Lead Youth Support Worker.
BYP will soon be doing a profile-raising campaign in local schools, with support from a Dartmoor Coronavirus Community Support Grant that focuses on community resilience. After a difficult year for local youth, BYP offers somewhere to relax, meet friends, be creative and get involved in activities again.
