Congratulations to Amber Sutton, winner of the Bank Youth Project’s 25th Birthday Logo Design Competition. Amber won the prize of £100 in a competition judged by local artists Cat and Dave Beech, and representatives of BYP’s Trustees, staff and members. Amber’s winning design is now on the BYP website and a banner over BYP’s door, and will be used throughout BYP’s 25th birthday year, including on the cake for December birthday celebrations.

The judges had a tough choice with the competition attracting many creative and some very professional entries. The judges commended and awarded chocolates and certificates of recognition for runner-up designs by George Glenton, Bodhi Sutton, Sam Smith, Tulah Pearce and Ruben Hornshaw.

The Bank Youth Project opened its doors for young people of Ashburton and surrounding communities late in 1998. Alison Irens, Chair of BYP’s Management Group, said in times when so many youth clubs have had to shut down, it is a remarkable achievement for the Ashburton community and the many individuals over the years who have worked for, supported, participated and been part of BYP that the Bank Youth Project is still here for local young people.
