Local heroes needed!

Jan 15, 2024 | News

New year, new logo… and the Bank Youth Project is still going, after 25 years! It’s quite an achievement, especially given the lack of funding for youth services. Rural areas in particular miss out. We think all young people need and benefit from access to social opportunities outside of school, such as open access youth clubs like BYP.

Much of our success has been down to the unwavering support of our Trustees, some of whom have been part of BYP’s Management Group since the early days, and who have steered us through good times and bad. But times move on, and we are now looking for some new local heroes to step up and help support our work with young people. You don’t have to know all about youth work, or commit huge amounts of time. You just need to have an interest in the wellbeing of our younger folk – the town’s future – and some spare time and ideas. You might be a former member or parent who has experienced BYP. You could have professional or personal skills to offer. We are particularly keen to find someone with finance experience/interests, as our Treasurer, Deborah Sterling, shortly steps down after five years. Please do think if you or someone you know might enjoy this kind of role or have skills to help BYP be here for young people now and in years to come.
